I'm originally from Montana, however, my love for culture, people and traveling has taken me many places in and out of the country. I graduated from the University of Great Falls in 2001 with my BA in Elementary Education and completed a Master's degree in 2015. I also have endorsements from Weber State for ESL, and from SUU for technology. This past Father's Day, my husband and I were blessed with our first child (daughter) and are beyond excited! With what little free time I now have, I enjoy watching soccer, MMA/UFC, going to concerts/movies, good food and spending quality time with friends and family.

When not using my cybernetic abilities to benefit mankind, I often enjoy practicing the art of photography and enhancing my computer skills in Adobe and Microsoft Office software. My less useful talents include playing a pretty good Lucio in Overwatch, playing a decent support class in Heroes of the Storm, and only partially finishing any game I buy for PS4. I enjoy many card and board games to round out my nerd cred. Oh, and I'm Team Mystic! My background includes working 10 years teaching in the DHS/DYC systems where I transformed into 50% animal, 50% robot, all teacher!

I've lived in Colorado since I was 8 and can't imagine ever leaving! While pursuing my Biology degree from MSU Denver, I worked in the bicycle and ski industry for 7 years. Riding my bike places with friends and family is one of my favorite things to do. It was during my time as a Teaching Assistant in the Human Anatomy and Physiology lab that I fell in love with teaching. With this love in mind, I attended the University of Denver to earn a Masters in Education. Last year I taught 10th Grade Chemistry within DPS and am looking forwards to all the amazing things Life and Physical Science have to offer! My favorite part of science is finding new connections that I hadn't seen before!

I am from St. Louis, Missouri and am the product of St, John’s Lutheran School, Lutheran High School South (Class of 1983), and the University of Denver with Bachelors degrees in both political science and public affairs/public policy.  I have been teaching in the Denver Public Schools since since my student teaching at Gove Middle School in 1991 and have been a proud Henry Eagle for 22 years now!  I taught sixth grade language arts, reading, and western hemisphere social studies for nine years before teaching eighth grade US history for three years and seventh grade world history for the past 13 years.
In my spare time, I work on my very old home, I look for treasures at estate sales on weekends, I volunteer for two non-profit organizations, and on school breaks I head home to St. Louis  to try to keep my 91-year-old mother happy and healthy living independently in her own home!  During the summer months, I spend much of my time working in several gardens and go to St. Louis more often and for longer periods of time.  I have travelled extensively around the world, and I hope to do more travelling in the future.
